Chelsea v Spurs - My Thoughts

Two successive 0-0 draws for Spurs, but the entertainment value of both matches are high. As I have predicted, the game was a low scoring affair, and it can't get as low as a 0-0 draw. The back 4 (Edman, Paramot, Naybet and King) are majestic compared to last season's line up (Taricco, Carr, Doherty and Gardner). King was particularly impressive and the statistics told us that he hasn't committed a foul since England v Iceland back in June until last night. And he is a defender!

Mendes is getting better and better with each game since his move from Porto, and it would be difficult to leave him out of the side when Carrick and Davis returned from their injuries. Davies returned for his first start and delivered a nice cross only for Keano to head the ball straight at Cech, and Atouba was doing okay. His stepovers were funny to look at for a huge man. Defoe and Keano didn't see much of the ball as we were under siege for most of the game, but Keano's touches let him down a number of times. Keano definitely needs to get sharper, or else his place will be in jeopardy.

Redknapp played an unspectacular but effective game, and I think he didn't deserve those harsh critics directed against him. I have met Redknapp when he first signed for Spurs, and he was a genuinely nice bloke. He stopped his car at the main entrance, rolled down his car window and signed autographs and posed for photographs for the fans. A first rate man and a decent footballer as well. He is our team captain and I hope the fans will set aside their opinions and give Redknapp a clean slate before judging him.
