Spurs 0 Man U 1: My Thoughts

It is not a penalty, at least not in my eyes.

Yes, there were tussles in the area, but O'Shea pulled as much as Edman did. So the benefit of doubt should always go to the defender in this scenario. Poor decision, and it triggered Spurs first defeat of the season.

I love the tactical flexibility displayed by Santini. A brave move saw Defoe playing upfront, Kanoute and Keano on the flanks and Mabizela joining Redknapp and Mendes in a defensive midfield trio. It might work has Kanoute not been injured in the first 20 minutes, but anyway it is a brave and adventurous tactical move by Santini, and I hope to see more of that.
